New Year

A new year has begun...and I still can't work out how to put a picture of myself in my profile on this website! However I think I have worked out how to show you pictures on this page (hence this delightful picture of myself...I won't look like this when I haven't washed my hair for a month so make the most of it!) Less than a week to go, and only 3kilograms of weight left in my luggage allowance and several items still to fit in. Perhaps I'll have to leave the camp bed here...

Anyway, I will try to let you know when I arrive, but it may be some time until I can get access to the internet, I just don't know!!

The Adventure Begins...

Well, it hasn't actually quite begun, because I'm sitting in my room surrounded by unpacked stuff for Africa, and stuff from my room that should be under the stairs by now, with my family arriving for new year tomorrow. And here I am faffing around on the computer. Though I should point out that actually I'm not faffing - I'm getting prepared to keep you updated on everything that happens to me over the next seven months. Well, perhaps not everything because I wouldn't want you to get bored and stop reading...but edited highlights at the very least. So keep logging on to this site and whenever I have the opportunity I will let you know what is happening in Ruhengeri!
